Virtual LAN

Introduction

A local area network (LAN) consists of network devices that are connected to each other within a geographical  limit. The network devices that form a LAN include computers, hubs, bridges, switches and routers.
A virtual local area network (VLAN) is a collection of networking devices existing in the same broadcast domain. In a broadcast domain, networking devices can share information between each other without the use of a routing device.
